I am a bubble girl, I admit it. That means I rarely venture outside my small local bubble for everyday needs and you can frequently hear me say things like oh, it’s all the way over there? I’m definitely not going. This is precisely why with two CVS stores less than 2 miles from my home I never go to Walgreens.
However, all of that changed recently. I wound up at Walgreens with my Mother In Law and was very surprised at the selection but bummed that my closest Walgreens is about a 15 minute drive. It would be unrealistic for me to shop there on a regular basis, right? Nope! I was just shopping at Walgreens in my pajamas with my beloved cup of coffee while creating a Lego city with Kayla.
Yes, I’ve been shopping from my phone through the Walgreens App. Did you know you can use it to scan a barcode on your prescription and refill it that way? I bet my husband would like to know that since it’s a lot easier than calling, going through several menus and typing in a ton of numbers like he’s used to doing to refill his prescription through another pharmacy. You can also schedule pill reminders which is a feature I will be explaining to my Mother In Law because she definitely needs it!
Most importantly you can shop Walgreens and sign up for their loyalty card through the app. You can also do it in stores, but if you ask me there is nothing worse than being in line and watching the person in front of you decide to sign up for a credit card or a rewards card. That reason has probably prevented me from signing up for a few of them before. I hate being “that person” to the people behind me. I signed up for the Walgreens Balance Rewards program right through their iPhone app.
It was pretty easy to sign up. I just entered some basic information and was instantly issued a Balance Rewards card that could be displayed on my the screen of my phone for use in the store or while shopping through the Walgreens mobile app.
Then I moved on to shopping. Believe it or not, I have never worn lipstick. For years I relied on Cherry Chapstick before moving on to Burt’s Bees Lip Balm. The $5.49 2-pack is right on par with what I would pay at Target. I also use little disposable washcloths that are pre-soaped for showers at swim class since it’s such a rush and there is always a line of little babies waiting for the shower. For reasons I can’t comprehend they are nearly impossible to find and always sold at a premium on Amazon.com but I find them through a simple search on Walgreens.
I see this Johnson’s No More Tangles shampoo which comes with extra rewards points and additional savings from using the Balance Rewards card. I also stumble upon this awesome looking Angry Birds Apptivity game which works with your iPad. I expect it to be completely overpriced like most of the toys in CVS are compared to Target but nope, it’s exactly the same at $9.99! I always buy a few things for the holidays that are for no one specific but just for our family to have fun with and this will be perfect.
Just so you know, I am a member of the Collective Bias™ Social Fabric® Community. This shop has been compensated as part of a social shopper insights study for Collective Bias™ and Walgreens #CBias #SocialFabric. Everything you see is my own picky opinion and I was pretty shocked to see how easy it was to save through the Walgreens App.
