Still haven't dealt with the Valentine "situation" for your kid's clas? Looking for a slightly more manly valentine? A bit cray-cray when it comes to what you let your kids eat? Don't worry, I am too! When I heard that YumEarth had organic lollipops and gummy bears that were sold at Target I knew I would be whipping up a couple of easy valentines using them.
I find myself neither wanting to buy the boring tear apart valentine cards that kids don't care about nor wanting to be that mom who sews elaborate hearts onto handmade (insert something crafty here) I just want something cool, easy to make and not overly junky to send to preschool.
YumEarth sent me some of their true to the namesake yummy lollipops which come in flavors like pomegranate, strawberry, mango, watermelon, blueberry and cherry and word on the street is they are in all Target stores....which is precisely where I found these super cute little foam mustache stickers.
I just trimmed down the wrapper, being sure not to cut to close to the lollipop and open it up by accident. Then I used two dots of Elmer's school glue (the default glue in our home) added some googly eyes and stuck the little mustache sticker on. Nothing too crazy, but they come out looking quite cute and they don't take a million years to make which is key if your child has a large class.
Can't find those stickers in Target or are more of a DIY-er then just print out or cut out a little mustache from some construction paper and glue those on, same effect, slightly more work but still nothing too fancy.
Kayla saw it and immediately was in a fit of giggles and begging to make "mustache men" with me so we'll be making 16 of these little guys along with our Valentine's Day play dough to send to school and it should take all of 15 minutes or less to make the little Mr. Mustache lollipops...which sounds just right to me!
