Hello Dragon! Super cute handmade puppets from Cate & Levi

Sometimes it's tempting to get caught up in licensed character mania.  I know I do.  Kids naturally identify with the peeps they see just about everywhere.  But I also like to maintain a balance and find toys that have nothing to do with multi-national conglomerates or a movie release.  So when I was strolling the floor at Toy Fair this winter and bumped into the crew from Cate & Levi I recognized their cute creations and couldn't help but stop and play.

The expert sweater crafters from Cate & Levi sent me this dragon puppet to check out at home and obviously it's adorable and handmade.  What might be less obvious is that all of their products are made from repurposed and organic materials.  That's right, the only thing killed for this dragon were some sweaters...that were probably way better off as puppets anyway.

This dragon instantly made Kayla giggle and despite it's slightly less traditional appearance she knew exactly what it was right away.  The different animals all have a similar goofy and cute look to them and there are a ton to choose from including a moose, a walrus, a monkey and many more.

I love that since each puppet is hand crafted, no two are the same.  They've got the label to prove it too!  Each one comes labeled as 1 of 1 edition puppet.   Now how cute would these be as a gift for the child who has everything?

If you're like me and lack the sewing skills to make something like this on your own.  Then it's worth checking out these handmade puppets from Cate & Levi.  I also happen to have my eyes on these unbelievably cute animal plaques that make you rethink how you feel about hunting decor.  I mean really, have you seen a cuter lion?  I know I haven't!

  1. This is seriously adorable! I have a slight disdain for well known figures (call in the rebel in me) so toys like this are my favorites!
